Today was the first of my every-week appointments. Calista’s heart rate was again 150 BPM (beats per minute) and I’m still measuring a little large (at 36 weeks, I measure 37 weeks).
I am currently 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Baby is engaged in pelvic station -1. The pelvic station is how far the baby has descended into the pelvis: -5 is high up, 0 is fully engaged, +4 is when the baby is crowning. So at a -1, Calista is almost fully engaged for the big day.
I was having some serious cramps and contractions on Thursday night, and the doctor said that while I could still go another 4 weeks (to my due date), he wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she came this week. Yikes.
Of course, my doctor is going on a fishing trip and will be out all next week… Not sure when my next appointment is, since I have to see a back-up doctor. As always, I will post an update afterwards.
