Protocol and a Price (Finally!)

It’s been a long, stressful day (not fertility related, rather work related) so forgive me for the terse update. But we did have our first consult today and now have a game plan and a price. We haven’t picked a date yet, since we’re not exactly sure when we might have enough money.

Below is the breakdown of costs for our upcoming IVF procedure.

Consult $550.00
Deposit $1,000.00
Medications $1,984.89
IVF $6,800.00
ICSI $2,000.00
Cyropreservation $800.00
Total $13,134.89

I did a lot of comparison shopping on the medications, and managed to save $800 in doing so. Very few of the medications are covered by our insurance (they are covered because they are used for other treatments, and are not specifically ferility medications. They are marked with an asterix (*) in the chart below).

Some pharmacies give the needles for free, but the pharmacy with the best prices charged for needles. Even with the cost of the needles, their price was better than the places that offered free needles.

The $12.00 VIP fee was an optional purchase that gives you a discount on certain meds. By paying the $12.00 VIP membership fee, I saved about $500 on medication costs.

The medications breakdown as follows:
