Suppression Check

September27

Our first appointment was today, the suppression check.  It’s an ultrasound to make sure that I have no cysts and nothing is going on with my reproductive organs.  Happy to report that everything is suppressed as desired and we move forward!  I start nasal spray on Sunday — the first of many meds.

Healthcare Spending Reimbursement

September27

We did get the HSA reimbursement in time — $1,000 — so our total raised was $8,285.18!

Lots of Needles

September21

My meds arrived today. Goodness it’s a large box. Kind of scary, actually. In addition to all of the medications, there are a total of 99 needles — ouch. I think about 20 of those are just for drawing up meds into the syringe, but still — 79 needles isn’t my idea of a good time.

Speaking of needles, we’ve also started acupuncture. So many people who have done IVF talk about the benefits of acupuncture, but I was reluctant to give in. Read the rest of this entry »

Grand Total

September21

We will be paying for our treatment in full next week, so fundraising is about done. We had a few more additions to the funds this week from Google Ads, my Mary Kay party and some clothes of Calista’s I sold. Those items brought in $1,106.49 so that puts our total money raised to $7,285.18. Not too shabby, considering we raised that amount in 10 weeks. That’s $104.74 a day raised! The fun will begin…

September11

…on September 27th at noon.  That’s when I have my suppression check (don’t ask me what the means, because I don’t really know, but I think it’s an ultrasound to make sure there’s nothing going on in my ovaries) and we learn how to administer injections (ooooh, fun!).

Fundraising Update

September11

We’ve received $52.50 in donations (that’s after PayPal takes their cut), and I sold my fertility monitor on eBay! Plus, we got a reimbursement check for $298.09 for some of the meds we already bought (through our flexible spending account). that brings our grand total raised to $6,178.69.

Only $6,946.30 to go! We’re almost halfway there. :)
