Ok, I didn’t have a lot of time or desire to post earlier. You see, we got the fertilization report call just as we were pulling out of the driveway for Calista’s skating lessons and I posted when we came home for lunch for a few minutes and were heading back out to go grocery shopping. I didn’t really want to get into it, as I had been crying a lot and didn’t want to start again. So here is the uncut version. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, it’s not so good. I guess we’re lucky we had all those eggs because out of ten mature eggs, we only have three embryos. They said they did ICSI on all ten, and only five fertilized (normal is 75 – 80% fertilization). Out of those five, only three fertilized normally, so there you have it — three. Now we wait. They said expect to come in Wednesday for a five-day transfer, and we won’t hear from them unless we lose all three. I’m just praying we don’t get that call that there’s nothing to transfer. Well, we didn’t get 7 eggs today at the retrieval. We did, however, get TEN!!!! We don’t know the quality yet, but ten eggs sounds good to me. We will get the fertilization report tomorrow. For now, I’m just lounging and recovering. Nothing too bad, just a bit sore from the retrieval.
Thank you for the continued support and positive thoughts!

We did our trigger shot last night at precisely 11:00 PM as instructed, and our egg retrieval is tomorrow at 9:00 AM. The things is, I don’t feel achey, sore or ANYTHING like I did last time at this point. Last time, I could feel my ovaries — they felt heavy and ached and now I get occasional bouts of aching here and there but not that full feeling like last time. I hope that’s not a bad sign and that it’s just that my body is a little more used to it.

Yesterday, I tried to explain to Calista about the eggs in my body and how they will be taken out to make baby seeds, and the baby seeds will be put back in. I’m also feeling pretty tender right now, and told her that I can’t be picking her up a lot. So last night, she wanted me to carry her upstairs, but I told her she needed to ask Daddy to, because I had to be careful of the eggs in my tummy. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, now we’re up to lucky number seven. 7 follicles today, ranging from 14-18 mm in size, and three that were just a millimeter or two behind (hoping they catch up). My right ovary just isn’t cooperating — just ONE follicle over there, and some smaller ones, but all too small to even hope they’d be retrievable. Read the rest of this entry »
