Follicle Scan #2
Well, I had my second ultrasound and it’s not looking so great. Now we’re down to just five measurable follicles, and four of them are on my left side, which is what happened last time. I don’t know what it is with my right ovary that it doesn’t want to produce.
The RE has pushed our retrieval back a day so we can do one more day of stims and hopefully get a few of the smaller follicles to catch up and be ready for retrieval.I was worried on Friday when we only saw ten, but convinced myself it was early and things would pick up. Now I’m just scared. Five?! We had nine last time. Five feels so hopeless.
I know “it only takes one” but believe me, when you have over $25,000 invested in baby-making, you hope for a hell of a lot more than “just one” embryo. I need to crawl in bed and feel sorry for myself for a while.
We have another ultrasound tomorrow, I just hope it shows some improvement.
