OB Dilemma

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 1:48 pm on Monday, April 30, 2007

I’m just not sure what we are going to do about an OB. My current OB/GYN, Dr. M, was awesome when I was pregnant with Calista. I’ve always liked him. However, his is the office that refused to see my last Tuesday, when I was spotting. (Read on …)

Where’s My Pregnant Glow?

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Belly Pictures — Sommer at 11:06 pm on Friday, April 27, 2007

Pregnant Glow.  That is NOT what I have going on right now.  Hopefully, I will encounter it soon, for everyone’s sake, but right now, it’s more like the Mask of Death.

I was terribly sick when pregnant with Calista and hoped I’d get passed over by the sickness fairy this time, but she has visited me twofold.  I am entirely grateful to be so ill, but I may need to post a reminder of that on the underside of my toilet lid soon.  In all seriousness, I’ll take it!  It means I am pregnant and the babies are growing.  I love it. Finally… Some Answers

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Ultrasounds — Sommer at 11:36 am on Wednesday, April 25, 2007

This morning, the CNMW’s office called me at 8:20 am — ten minutes before they opened.  The receptionist said they didn’t have any openings, but if I came in at 9:30 am, they’d fit me in.  I called Skip and we met at the office at 9:30 am. (Read on …)

Change of Plans

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 5:39 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2007

Skip came home early so I could get some rest, and I spent most of the afternoon in bed. You know, “relaxing”.

My RE’s office called me back at the end of the day to see how I was doing and offered more reassurance that everything is most likely fine. The nurse said if I was 6 weeks, they’d do the ultrasound, but it was just a little too early for their equipment. (Read on …)

I Give Up

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 11:51 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2007

After being dicked around all morning by my OBs office, I give up. No one is going to see me, apparently. After waiting 2 hours for my OB’s office to call me back, I called the RE. They said that there’s an 85 - 90% chance it’s nothing, it might be a threatened miscarriage, or it’s possible that we’re losing a twin. They said they would do an ultrasound, but their machine isn’t as good as the OB’s and they wouldn’t see much, so they told me to call my OB to have an the ultrasound. (Read on …)

First Update

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 9:44 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I waited 1/2 hour after the doctor’s office opened and when I hadn’t heard anything, I called again.  They said the nurse had my chart and would call me back when she was done seeing a patient.

The nurse called me back and basically asked me everything I had already said on the answering machine this morning, and then said I’d likely have to “wait it out” but she’d talk to the OB and then call me back. (Read on …)

Please Don’t Let this Happen

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 7:46 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I’m very scared right now.  I just went to use the bathroom and there was blood when I wiped.  I’ve left a message with my OB.  They open at 8:30 am, I hope to hear soon.

Twice in One Day!

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Belly Pictures — Sommer at 4:11 pm on Monday, April 23, 2007

Ok, so I hadn’t posted for a few days and now you get a two-for-one deal.  I had posted about the amazing bloating belly this morning and thought I would share a picture, because it’s fascinating to me.  This did NOT happen when I was pregnant with Calista. (Read on …)
