Calista and I had plans to go out today. As we were getting ready, I looked all over but could not find my wedding band, engagement ring, watch and bracelet. I always hook them all together when I take them off, and since all were missing, I knew I took them off somewhere and just couldn’t remember where.
I looked for a good 1/2 hour, checking every room of the house. I checked my coats pockets, jean pockets, under the dressers… no luck. I asked Calista if she had found them and played with them, and assured her she wouldn’t be in trouble if she had, but she said no. I gave up for the time being and we went out.
We came home and I started looking again. I figured I either took them off when I started supper (which means I’d have left them in the kitchen) or when I put on my pajamas (which means I’d have left them in the bedroom). But they weren’t in either place. I was starting to really worry at this point.
Skip hadn’t seen them, Calista still held firm that she had no played with them. After Skip got home, he started looking, too. I was just about to start digging through the garbage (ick) when Calista came down stairs and told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands. Skip found them in the pocket of my jogging jacket, which was in the hamper in our bedroom. I forgot I even wore that yesterday.
It’s gonna be a long nine months if this keeps up.
LOL, it will be a long 9 months. Welcome back to those good ol brain farts!
I lose things all the time! Still can’t find my favorite watch from the week following Megan’s birth. I probably through it in the garbage is my thinking!
Yep- it only gets worse! I find that my pg brain is the worst, but mommy brain tends to get progressively worse as you add more kids- so your outlook is not good!!!!!! LOL
It’s all worth it, though. At least now you’ll have more pairs of eyes looking for things or more little brains to help you remember stuff (including the things you WANT to forget :)
It will keep the blog lively and humorous! Glad you found them.
Ugh, I remember that kind of stuff! Next time you lose something, ask ST. ANTHONY. He is the patron saint of lost stuff (and by that, probably the patron saint of pregnancy brain moms), make sure to say thank you when he helps you find stuff. ;o) Glad Skip found it. You wounldn’t want to lose your good bling!
