The ramblings of a mom of three.

Wasting Time

June22

I’m just taking a break from work while I do my IV and thought I would post here.  Nothing exciting but it beats working!

I’m in the midst of a Braxton Hicks contraction and I can’t tell you how much I hate them.  I know that they are “harmless” but it freaks me out because I am already scared of pre-term labor, the last thing I need is contractions at 14 weeks!  Sheesh!

I am having better days and not getting nearly as sick as I had been.  Go figure that happens just as my mother in law arrives after a desperate plea for her to come ASAP.  I’m sort of mad I’m not as sick as I was — don’t want her thinking I’m a big liar!

The last time I threw up was Tuesday night (as if people are keeping track of when I vomit) and I’ve felt pretty OK since then.  I had a bad headache yesterday and just felt a bit sick, so I laid in bed for the evening.  Today, I’ve got the headache and a little yuckiness, but nothing major.  Maybe it’s on its way out…

My belly is pretty big (for 14 weeks) and I’ll have to post a picture later.  At my 13 week appointment, I measured 20 weeks.  Yikes.I found some cribs I like and thy are relatively inexpensive (as far as cribs go) and on sale this week, so I told Skip he and I will be crib shopping this weekend.  It will be the very first purchase we’ve made for the babies and I am excited.

Not much else going on, just thought since I felt coherent, I’d update. :)

I am so happy to hear that you are beginning to feel better!

Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy your pregnancy rather than just endure it. I’ve done both, and I much prefer to enjoy it. :)

You can always tell your mother-in-law that it is her superior tender loving care that has nursed you back to health.

I am sorry you have been having such a rough time. Hang in there! I hope things start getting easier soon. I am glad you are starting to gain weight and feel better. It sounds like your hyperemesis is clearing up!

My sister said to stay hydrated. It will help with the Braxton Hicks.

Glad things are going a bit better!!! About the BH cx; I started feeling them very noticably around 13wks on baby #2 (and it wasn’t even twins!). Very annoying- but I think some of us just feel them more than others. Think of them as warm-ups and try not to worry too much about them. If you’re really concerned, though, talk to your new OB (who sounds really great!) and tell him your concerns.

The u/s are looking awesome!!! Grow babies, grow!

I started having Braxton Hicks when I was 12 weeks. They did hurt pretty bad sometimes. It was always scary, but they were never progressive. I’m so glad you are feeling better.

I’m glad you are starting to feel better. I started to have BH about 15 wks when I was pg for my twins…I too was scared to have them but I knew they were harmless as well. I try to check up on your blog every few days to make sure your still around and are okay. I love the recent u/s pictures of the babies…too cute.

Sorry about the Braxton Hicks! I had those through all three of my pregnancies and I HATED them. Though the earliest was Zac, he was born at 38 weeks so they don’t always mean PTL. ;)
