15 weeks 4 days
I had a checkup today. I know it’s been a while, since I’ve graduated to every-other-week appointments. Bad news is that Baby A’s placenta is still over my cervix AND baby is breech. C-Sectionville, here I come!!!!
The good news is, we got to see the goods! Baby B had umbilical cord in the way, so we moved on to A, who clearly had the “three lines” of womanhood present. We went back to Baby B who had moved a bit and not only were the three lines absent, but there was a wee package between the legs…
Just as Mommy (that would be me) predicted, Baby A is a GIRL and Baby B is a BOY!
Skip wasn’t able to come to the ultrasound, as he had surgery last week, so to tell him, I got a pink sleeper and a blue sleeper. I got two white gift bags, and wrote a big A on one and a big B on the other. I put the pink and blue sleepers in their respective white bags, tucked in some yellow tissue paper and stuck a green and yellow bow on each one.
I made him open A first just to leave him wondering a little longer if he was getting any blue. It was fun!
Now comes the really hard part… names.

Yay! Glad you got them to cooperate today! And it’s pretty exciting to see I had guessed right in your poll even if I couldn’t get it to work on here. :)
Also love the way you picked to tell Skip!
Congrats on the BOY/GIRL news! Very exciting!!!!
Woooo hoooo i guessed boy/girl too!!!
YAY! Congrats!!
Yipee! So happy for you (and for me since I guessed right, too :)
Congrats!!! You are now the 5th ABMT mom to have b/g twins. :D That is awesome.
don’t worry about baby A being breech. Eyan and Chloe were both turned different ways at every u/s up until 36 weeks. They both ended up being head down when I delivered. So your little ones will probably do several summer salts before it’s all said and done.
I knew it!!!!!
Pink and blue for Sommer! I bet Calista is over the moon!
I love your updates. :) Keep ‘em coming!
How exciting!! Congratulations!!
That’s great news. A boy and girl. I bet Calista will be happy about that.
YAY!!! B/G twins sound like a lot of fun!!!
As far as the placenta still being over the cervix, you still have plenty of time. Placentas have been known to move as far as 36 weeks! As far as Baby being Breech, you’re ONLY 15weeks and a few days! You have plenty of time!!
Wonderful news Sommer!! I had a feeling you were carrying a boy and a girl. I don’t know why….
I love the way you presented the news to Skip.
Awesome, congrats Sommer!!
Oh Sommer that is beyond awesome!! I’m so happy for you and Skip! (and Miss Big-sister Calista of course)
Congratulations! Way to go with that mommy instinct — mine was completely wrong with my daughter. I was convinced she was a boy. :P
If you’re interested, the Baby’s Named a Bad, Bad Thing forum has an “Advice” section, and the posters there give LOTS of great suggestions! (Calista is a popular name there, btw.) :)
Congrats! That’s wonderful news! :-)
Woohoo! Congratulations!!!!! I’m so happy for you. And your placenta still has time to move, and baby DEFINITELY still has time to flip. ;)
Awesome news! Keep the reports coming!
How did Calista take the news of having both a sister and a brother?
Hey I was right! Congratulations!!! I love the way you told Skip. ;)
YAY Sommer! Congrats!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! One of each…how perfect!!!
Congrats, Sommer, that’s what I’m thinking for me too, but reversed…I think my A is a boy and B is a girl. Names are the hard part but also a lot of fun. Ours are all set unless we have two boys (first time I’ve even uttered that out loud!)
Congrats Sommer!
Hooray! How exciting! What does Calista think? Can’t wait to hear what names you pick!
CONGRATS!!!!! That’s wonderful!!!! Glad both babies are healthy and doing well.
I really like how you told Skip!
Congratulations!!!
Hey Summer. I just wanted to check back and see how things were going with you and saw you are expecting twins! That is so awesome and I am so happy for you and your family. I followed your blog back when I was on C-moms and I was expecting twins. Good luck to you and your family. They are so much fun and such a complete joy. I almost feel sorry for people who don’t get to experience twins! I’ll definitely be checking back!! Take care of those babies!
I left a comment for you in another post, but thought it would be more appropriate to leave my congratulations here. What wonderful news to read and what a clever way to tell your husband the news. A lot of your story is similar to ours. Our RE calls our daughter a “miracle” and I hope we get another chance, or two ;) as we have started the IVF process.
Again, congratulations, may you have a very uneventful and safe pregnancy.
how exciting!!! and what a cute way to share the news w/ your husband.
can’t wait to hear names…
Breech isn’t an issue at this point – long ways to go on that one and babies are still flippin’ all the time. The issue will be the previa. C-sections aren’t bad at all, so don’t worry too much.
Congrats on the boy/girl!
CONGRATS!!! How cool to have one of each! :) :)
I’m behind on reading you blog and was happy to see the boy/girl news! What a great way to share the news with your dh. I hope you keep having far more good days than bad ones.
