Just One More…

No word yet on when my appointment with the peri will be. After posting yesterday, I did some crying, and Calista was so sweet as to bring me Kleenexes and wipe the mascara off of my face (I recently started wearing mascara and blush again after years without makeup, now I remember one of the reasons I had stopped). She asked why I was sad and I explained that Baby A was a little bit small and I wanted him to grow. She patted my belly and told Baby A to grow big and she also told Skip I was sad because Baby A is small. I hate to trouble her little mind with my worries, but she’s just so sweet and I think that she deserves to know what is going no (to a certain extent). She had another talk with the babies last night and told Baby A to grow. Gosh, I love that kid. (Read on …)

Well, we had another ultrasound and appointment today. I wish I could say it went well, but it really didn’t. One of the good things was that Baby A’s placenta is no longer completely over my cervix — it’s now 5 mm away. Granted, it needs to be at least 2 cm away to be allowed to try for a vaginal birth, but that fact that it moved at all is great. (Read on …)

Crafty… I spent the weekend making some covers for nursing pillows. I was at the consignment store and saw what appeared to be a twin nursing pillow. It was $12.99 and 40% off. I did not care for the cover on it (kind of a country print, with dolls and things like “Sugar and Spice” written on it, with an eyelet lace trim) but I figured for ~$8 I could just get a new cover, so I got it. No wonder I am in pain these days. Goodness, the belly is large! I am happy to say, however, that so far (fingers crossed) I really am “all belly”. I just look like me with a big old belly. See what I mean? (Read on …)

Some people have wondered where I was and if I was ok, and I am here and I am ok.  I just had a very busy work week last week and was out of town for three days.

There is a conference that I work annually, and it was last Thursday.   Plus the reception the night before, and all the prep work leading up to the events…  I was at the conference center 13 hours on Thursday!  The chairman tried to send me home a little before that, but I’m one of those “go, go, GO!” kind of people and I kept finding things that needed done, so I hung in until the bitter end.  It was actually quite fun, but I sure paid the price in aches and pains afterwards. We’ve reached milestone today — 20 weeks!  Halfway there if you’re using the traditional 40 weeks gestation of a singleton pregnancy, and more than halfway there for twins!  Yay!  Next goal is 24 weeks — viability.  And the belly… (Read on …)
