Last night was our baby shower that our friend Lindsay put together for us. It was so nice, and we had a really great time. Lindsay made appetizers and desserts, we had roses on the table, tea lights, wine (not for me, of course!) and just a really nice “adult” atmosphere. We’re 28 weeks today! On to the third trimester we go… the home stretch. It’s belly picture day, but Calista has been sick and I am looking less than fabulous at the moment, so I think we’ll wait to do the picture tomorrow. The great news, however, is that my PICC line was removed today! I feel so free. :)

No, they haven’t been born, but we did have a 3D ultrasound today, which was my early 30th birthday present. We got some really great views of Baby A. Unfortunately, Baby B was in an odd position, and the technician didn’t seem interested in trying to get him on screen. I offered many times to lay on my side, drink water, or something, and she’d just check B for a few seconds, and go right back to A. So I have a ton of pictures of A and just ONE picture of B. Ok, so I haven’t updated. Sorry about that. I just really don’t feel like it these days. I am unable to sleep due to back pain (and my million pillows don’t help) so I’m up around 6 each day, and then I am dead tired until I drag myself back to bed again. I won’t even begin to scare you with stories of my recent bowel issues that they wanted me to go to Labor and Delivery in Seattle for (tonight, at 8:30 pm — HA!). Instead, I’ll see the local OB tomorrow. But how can I possibly be miserable knowing these sweet little boys are growing inside me? Read the rest of this entry »

I had my follow-up from last week’s hospital stay. I made the two hour trek south to Seattle yesterday, which wasn’t too bad (on the way down, at least). I had a few bouts of crying, thinking about what would happen if I had to stay again and how much I’d miss Skip and Calista, but overall, it was a good drive. Read the rest of this entry »
