The boys had their 4 month well baby visit on Thursday. Ace is now 10 pounds 1 ounce and 21 3/4″ tall and Nate is 11 pounds 8 ounces and 22″ tall. Funny that they are almost identical in height, but a pound and a half different in weight!
We went through all of the developmental things and the boys were checked over. The doctor said that other than their size, they are normal 4 month olds! So, even though they were two months premature, they are meeting milestones as if they were born full term. They must be smart like their sister. I’m so proud of them!
Ace’s herniated belly button is almost gone — it’s flat now, instead of protruding. His hydrocele has resolved as well. His right ear is clear of infection, his left has a touch of fluid in it, and his cough is almost gone. He was all smiles and giggles for Dr. W as well. He has been taken off of Prevacid and we are now trying out Zantac — which he hates — and it seems to be working. Oh, and Dr. W would like A-Man to start having rice cereal 3 times a day to help keep food in his tummy.
Nate’s cold is almost clear and he was fine, except he now has hydrocele. Not a big deal at this time, and it should resolve on its own. Dr. W had Nate on his tummy while he used the stethoscope to listen to his lungs, and just as Dr. W had the stethoscope over the area of Nate’s tummy, Nate burped a loud one. Dr. W backed up, took off the stethoscope and said, “I’ll need about 5 minutes for my hearing to come back.” It was pretty funny! And then, Mr. Nate, who generally doesn’t roll, proceeded to show off and roll over. Smart guy shows off his skills when he knows he’s being evaluated!
They won’t have another check up until 6 months now.
They tried their rice cereal tonight and seemed to enjoy it, though I think Ace really likes the pears better.
Shoot, we move the clocks ahead tonight, so I better call it a night. Oh, and guess what? I am now the president of our Homeowners’ Association! As if I don’t have enough to do… But it’s something I wanted to do and hope that I am able to make some positive changes to our neighborhood. :)

WTG guys! Such a testament to the great job you are doing with them, Sommer. I’m sure you were anxious about the thought of caring for twins, but you’ve really seem to have it down. Go boys!

Sounds like they’re thriving. And what a completely adorable pic of the two of them at the top of this site…what dolls! Great job “growing” them up! :-)
