Sleep is Most Certainly NOT Over Rated

I don’t know what their deal is lately, but the boys are not having it when it comes to sleep!!  I went back to putting them in their swings after the whole transition to crib fiasco and naps are ok again.  But now bedtime is a nightmare!  The screaming, the whining, the fussing, the flailing around…  and the boys are just as bad!  He he…

Seriously, though, they are just crazy these past few nights.  Especially Nate, he’s been going bonkers in his Amby bed.  Tonight i moved him into his crib after watching him flop around like a fish out of water and sure enough, when I put him in his crib, he rolled on to his stomach (his newest skill).  Perhaps the days of the Amby bed are over for Nate if that’s how he wants to sleep.

He went to sleep after a bit in the crib, but has woken up a few times in the past two or three hours.  Same with Ace, though he’s still in his Amby bed.

They just wake up and scream and wail and basically freak out.  There is no doing what works because we don’t know what works right now!

I thought maybe they weren’t taking in enough during the day and were making up for it at night, so I nursed them a ton today.  That didn’t help any.

I really hope this is short lived.  Momma likes her sleep and Momma ain’t gettin’ any these days.  I suggested to Skip that we sleep in shifts — one of us sleeps in the downstairs bedroom while the other deals with the boys and then come feeding time, I feed them and we switch.  But he didn’t seem to care for that idea.

If I don’t get some rest tonight, there’s going to be hell to pay in the morning!  Wish me luck.

  1. Oh Sommer – I hope this is short lived for their sake, and yours. Hang in there super mommy as this too shall pass.

  2. I sure hope this ends soon! It is rough at first especially when they have their days and nights mixed up, not to mention naps! Sorry to hear about Skip not wanting to sleep in shifts. Especially with you guys having twins! I know from experience it’s hard to handle it alone with just one, I can’t imagine what you are going through with twins! BIG HUGS!!!
