It looks like we will be getting a new van this week, thanks to the woman who ran a stop sign and hit us last Wednesday. The boys and I were heading in to town for our daily trip to pick up Calista from Kindergarten. I was doing the speed limit — 50 MPH — as I approached an intersection. The approaching car had a stop sign, but as I got closer, I kept thinking “she’s not stopping…”
Sure enough, she kept going and though I tried to move out of her way, she slammed into me on the passenger side of our van. Read the rest of this entry »

Today is the boys’ first birthday. Well, it’s 12:31 am now, so technically it was yesterday.
Their party was Saturday. We ended up with about 30 people in attendance and I hope everyone had a nice time. It was at a local park, and we had rented the pavilion. We set up a food table, and a table with mementos of both boys’ first year. I create a scrapbook for each of them, had a journal for each of them so guests could write messages to them, pictures of their ultrasounds, footprints from when they were born, the little booties my mom knitted that they wore in the NICU, hospital bracelets, hats, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

If I could stop time, I think I would. As much as I love to watch Ace and Nate grow and change each day, I am just not wanting them to grow up. They will be one next weekend, and it feels too soon! I’m not ready. :( Read the rest of this entry »

Today sucked. It was one of those days where nothing goes right.
First, I was tired. But that’s nothing new.
Second, my nanny couldn’t come as early as I’d hoped, so I couldn’t get as much done for work as I wanted to.
Next, I spent too much time figuring out exactly what to spend my $250 BabyGAP card on only to discover that the damned card can’t be used online!
Then, I got a call from our real estate agent that an offer we made on a new house* wouldn’t even be considered because it was contingent.
