Just One More…

…or perhaps two.

Welcome to the World: The Birth of Ace and Nate

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 9:14 pm on Friday, October 19, 2007

This entry is being written from memory 6 days later, as well as from some notes I had made while in the hospital. I didn’t actually know the babies’ weights until several hours after their birth, and I didn’t learn their lengths until several days later.

If you recall, I went to the OB for period-like cramping at 30 weeks. The OB did a test called the FFN, which is supposed to predict if a woman will go into labor in the next 2 weeks. Mine was negative and I was told that negatives are more accurate than positives with this test, and I had a less than 1% chance of delivering in the next two weeks. (Read on …)

Nate’s 3D Ultrasound Photos

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Ultrasounds — Sommer at 12:08 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2007

We got to have a re-do of our 3D ultrasound today since we didn’t really get to see Nate (Baby B) last time.  Check out our chunky monkey! (Read on …)

Nursery Progress

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 6:39 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2007

I had ordered some letters for above the cribs in the nursery, and they arrived today. They are hand-painted from Kids Room Creations and I couldn’t be happier with them! I sent her a sample of the fabric and the colors and she made them to match the bedding. I haven’t hung them up yet, and will post a picture when we do, but look how great they are (they are 5″ x 7″ each): (Read on …)

30 weeks

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Belly Pictures — Sommer at 8:32 pm on Friday, October 12, 2007

We are 30 weeks today. It feels like I’ve been pregnant forever, but it also feels like time is going by quickly… if it’s possible to feel both of those at once.

I’ve been having low back pain and period-like cramps, so I called my OB and they had me in for an FFN. It’s a test that gives you a positive or negative result — a positive means you are likely to deliver in the next two weeks and a negative means you are not likely to deliver in the next two weeks. 4 More Weeks

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Ultrasounds — Sommer at 2:18 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Give me the strength to go four more weeks (+2 days). That’s all I ask.

I am having a really hard time these days. I had an OB appointment yesterday and measured 41 weeks. That’s essentially measuring that of a singleton pregnancy one week overdue. I was 29 weeks and 4 days at the time of that measurement. (Read on …)

We’re Going to have Two Babies

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2007

No, I have not been living under a rock.  I realize I am pregnant with twins (how could I forget?  Oy!) but I’m just having one of those “wow” moments where I just stopped and thought — we are going to have a baby.  Not one baby, but two babies.  Wow. (Read on …)

Just a Quickie

We just got back from Seattle a bit ago — it was a long day.  Skip drove me and we took Calista this time.  She did pretty well through the appointments. (Read on …)

A Shower and A Belly

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Belly Pictures — Sommer at 10:31 am on Sunday, September 30, 2007

Last night was our baby shower that our friend Lindsay put together for us. It was so nice, and we had a really great time. Lindsay made appetizers and desserts, we had roses on the table, tea lights, wine (not for me, of course!) and just a really nice “adult” atmosphere. Calista donned her birthday dress and was a perfect little lady. (Read on …)
