Just One More…

28 weeks and PICC free!

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 7:38 pm on Friday, September 28, 2007

We’re 28 weeks today!  On to the third trimester we go…  the home stretch.  It’s belly picture day, but Calista has been sick and I am looking less than fabulous at the moment, so I think we’ll wait to do the picture tomorrow.  The great news, however, is that my PICC line was removed today!  I feel so free.  :)

Meet the Boys!

No, they haven’t been born, but we did have a 3D ultrasound today, which was my early 30th birthday present. We got some really great views of Baby A. Unfortunately, Baby B was in an odd position, and the technician didn’t seem interested in trying to get him on screen. I offered many times to lay on my side, drink water, or something, and she’d just check B for a few seconds, and go right back to A. So I have a ton of pictures of A and just ONE picture of B. Yeah, Yeah… I’m Here

Ok, so I haven’t updated.  Sorry about that.  I just really don’t feel like it these days.  I am unable to sleep due to back pain (and my million pillows don’t help) so I’m up around 6 each day, and then I am dead tired until I drag myself back to bed again.  Anyhow, some updates… (Read on …)

But They are Oh-So-Cute

I won’t even begin to scare you with stories of my recent bowel issues that they wanted me to go to Labor and Delivery in Seattle for (tonight, at 8:30 pm — HA!).  Instead, I’ll see the local OB tomorrow.  But how can I possibly be miserable knowing these sweet little boys are growing inside me? Appointment Update

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 11:09 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2007

I had my follow-up from last week’s hospital stay.  I made the two hour trek south to Seattle yesterday, which wasn’t too bad (on the way down, at least).  I had a few bouts of crying, thinking about what would happen if I had to stay again and how much I’d miss Skip and Calista, but overall, it was a good drive. Then and now…

I was looking at my belly pictures from when I was pregnant with Calista, trying to see which was most comparable to where I’m at now.  It seems that my 36 week belly with Lulu is the closest comparison. (Read on …)

26 Weeks — Fakin’ a Smile

Filed under: Babies on the Way, Belly Pictures — Sommer at 9:25 pm on Friday, September 14, 2007

Today I am 26 weeks. The survival rate of a baby born at 26-27 weeks gestation is ~84%. Every week those numbers go up and every week we are just a little closer.

It’s been a rough day, though. (Read on …)

Just Another Routine Visit?

Filed under: Babies on the Way — Sommer at 8:34 am on Thursday, September 13, 2007

This is going to be a long one…

Tuesday was our appointment in Seattle to check on the boys’ growth.  Our appointments started at 12:30 pm, so we had to leave the house at 9:30 am, drop Calista off with our friends at 10 am and be on the road to Seattle by 10:30 am.

Leaving Calista went well, and the drive started out well.  Then Skip got a speeding ticket.  And we learned that we don’t have our registration in our car.  Nice.  That was entertaining.  Interestingly enough, the last time Skip got a speeding ticket was over four years ago, I was pregnant with Calista and we were on our way to Seattle.  Go figure.
