I was really getting behind in my work and the boys weren’t napping very well so I finally caved and hired a nanny. All I can say is HALLELUJAH! I am a fool for not doing it sooner. One year ago today, our babies came home to my body. In just two hours, it will be exactly one year since Skip and I met up at Dr. B’s office and had two gorgeous blastocysts transferred back to my womb. And now, those two are fighting nap time while taking a little ride in their swings. I can’t help but smile when I look at them and think of all we went through to get to where we are now. They are certainly miraculous little guys and were worth every bit of frustration, disappointment and tear shed that led to their arrival into our lives. As you may or may not know, I make all of our baby food. Calista never once had baby food out of a jar as it was all home made. This time around, I have to make twice as much, and my old method wasn’t working as well, as I had to make new food too often. Tonight we spent an evening with friends of ours who are moving to Texas next week. It’s the last time we will see them until possibly Christmas, as they said they will be coming back for a family birthday. We’ve known them for a little over two years now, and our daughters have known each other longer as they were in day care together. (Read on …)
I keep forgetting to post this, but it just popped into my head, so I better post before I forget again. Soon after the boys were born, we received a $100 gift card to Kroger stores (Fred Meyer) in the mail. It came direct from the company, with no note, no packing slip, no way of knowing who sent it to us. Was it you? Please let us know, as we’ve never been able to thank the person who gave it to us!
Just when I think we’ve got Ace figured out, we take two steps back and he’s screaming again. We thought eliminating dairy had helped, but then it stopped working. We thought reflux meds helped, but then they stopped working. We thought that the Amby beds helped, but then they stopped working. So um… I’m going to try to take time to write an update again soon, honest. I’m just so busy with the kids that free time is hard to come by these days. :) However, both boys are doing great, we are exclusively breastfeeding now and Ace weighs 6 lbs 8 oz and Nate weighs 7 lbs 7 oz! I’ll try to post some real updates and more pictures over the weekend…
