Just One More…

…or perhaps two.

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, our babies came home to my body. In just two hours, it will be exactly one year since Skip and I met up at Dr. B’s office and had two gorgeous blastocysts transferred back to my womb. And now, those two are fighting nap time while taking a little ride in their swings. I can’t help but smile when I look at them and think of all we went through to get to where we are now. They are certainly miraculous little guys and were worth every bit of frustration, disappointment and tear shed that led to their arrival into our lives. If you’re interested in a trip down memory lane, my post-transfer blog entry can be found here.

Finally!

I called the lab again to see if they straightened things out and they had — and they had the results! I thought for sure they were going to have screwed something else up, but fortunately, they got it right and did a Beta hCG. (Read on …)

Frustration and Stupidity

Filed under: IVF #2, In the Meantime... — Sommer at 12:20 pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2007

I went in for my second Beta this morning at 8:30 am. As I posted yesterday, I’ve been feeling a bit stressed out and wanting more confirmation that this is really happening, so I was glad it was Beta day again. (Read on …)

The Number

I went for my blood draw at 8:15 am this morning then took Calista to the dentist and then preschool. I knew I could have signed a waiver at the blood draw to the get the results direct from the lab myself, but I decided I waited this long, I could be patient. (Read on …)

How Many Blinks to a BFP?

Well, here we are… Sunday. The last day of peeing on sticks for me. It’s a bittersweet day for sure. I’ve spent the last three years peeing on sticks month after month, searching for a hint or a trace of a line, trying to will one to magically appear. But now they are positive. I’ve peed on a stick a day since I got the first positives, and said I’d stop when I got the blood test. I will go in at 8 am (PST) for a blood draw tomorrow and will have the results by noon, so no more pee sticks for me. (Read on …)

Yowzas!

I’m FINALLY getting close to the Beta day. I can’t believe I’ve waited this long. If it weren’t for the increasing darkness of the pee sticks, I am sure I’d have gone mad by now, but the pee sticks have kept me sane through this wait. I knew I liked them for a reason. (Read on …)

Good Morning!

Today I am 4 weeks pregnant. Still waiting on that dang blood test Monday. Still peeing on sticks.

On Sunday, I will be doing the last of my pee sticks (the pee stick finale, I suppose). I also planned to post a poll here in my blog to see what people guess my Beta will be (I need something to pass the time, since I’ll be done peeing on sticks!). (Read on …)

Never Make Eye Contact

Filed under: IVF #2 — Sommer at 9:07 am on Thursday, April 12, 2007

I’m not sure what it is this week with me and cashiers, perhaps it’s the smile and eye contact that I make when going through a checkout, or maybe it’s the bulk quantities of HPTs. Must be the smile and eye contact. (Read on …)
