Yesterday was Mother’s Day. We were in Victoria, BC that day, and I was greeted with a card Calista made on some wrapping paper she found in the suite. Then, I was treated to breakfast — which was Cinnamon Toast Crunch with rice milk and a bagel with jam, since we didn’t have much food on our last day there — and a bouquet of mini roses, trimmed from the faux flowers on the table in the kitchen. I am so tired. I was up until 3:30 am working, and then up with the boys to feed them a couple of times last night and up for the day at 8:00 am. All I want to do is nap, and as tempted as I get when the boys are in their room, I know it will just set me further behind with my work. I have GOT to get more daylight work hours logged so I don’t have to stay up so late at night. I fell pretty short on hours last month, and short on hours means short on income, which we can NOT afford. (Read on …)

The boys are doing great. They turned six months old on the 19th of April. Nate weighs 13 pounds 15 ounces and Ace weighs 11 pounds 15 ounces. Big boys!! (Read on …)
I don’t know what their deal is lately, but the boys are not having it when it comes to sleep!! I went back to putting them in their swings after the whole transition to crib fiasco and naps are ok again. But now bedtime is a nightmare! I think I am slowly losing my mind. You see, originally, we had the boys napping in their swings. We’d swaddle them, plunk them in there and they’d sleep for 3-4 hours at a time. Sweet. But a few weeks ago, I decided they need to start napping in their cribs and learn how to sleep on their own. I love those quiet moments where I am suddenly consumed by the miracles that are my children. This morning, I had been thinking about our first IVF and the three embryos that did not grow into babies. I wondered who they might have been and quietly mourned their loss. I would have loved to have known them as I know Calista, Ace and Nate. (Read on …)
These boys can be so goofy sometimes. Right now, I am nursing them and Ace is looking up at me. If I look down at him, he giggles. And Nate was just cracking up at the sight of a headband Calista wore that had fuzzy hearts on top of it the other day. It’s so fun to see the little things that amuse them! (Read on …)
The boys had their 4 month well baby visit on Thursday. Ace is now 10 pounds 1 ounce and 21 3/4″ tall and Nate is 11 pounds 8 ounces and 22″ tall. Funny that they are almost identical in height, but a pound and a half different in weight! (Read on …)
