29 Days In…

I’ve had the hearing aids for almost a month.  It is definitely a challenge getting used to them, and if you or someone you know is going to be getting hearing aids, please be sure you or they understand it’s NOT easy!  I am so grateful I had a lot of fair warning about this process…

First of all, for me, behind my ears ached a lot in the beginning.  Kind of like the feeling I get if I wear a plastic headband too long.  I took the hearing aids out every 4-5 hours for a rest (and sometimes had to psyche myself up to put them back in) for the first couple of weeks. Headaches

Ever since that stupid accident back in October 2008 where the lady ran her stop sign and totaled my van, I have had migraines.  Pretty much any time I sit for an extended period of time, like at work or while traveling, I can pretty much expect to have a migraine for a day or more afterward.  We went up Canada on Saturday and took the ferry over to Victoria and I’ve had a headache since.  Is this ever going to stop?  Excedrin Migraine sometimes can’t touch it, and weekly massage therapy helps, but I am still.getting.migraines.  ARGH!  I’m hoping to start to see a chiropractor when I get on my new health insurance at work.  I just wish I could get back to “normal” as far as my back/neck are concerned.

Sorry for the boring rant, but I’m really trying to find my groove and get back into posting here again.  It’s a start…

Blue Christmas

The past few days have been busy, and I’ve also been having a lot of headaches and neck pain (thanks, Nissan Xterra Lady).  Almost all of the gifts are wrapped — and the rest will be done tonight after Skip brings home some more wrapping paper.  He’s also picking up the last of the gifts today (those Easy Bake Ovens are hard to find!). Let It Snow!

We’ve got our first snow of the season happening right now.  Well, that’s not exactly true.  It happened last night, and now it’s just on the ground.  And man oh man is it ever COLD out!  It gets so windy it’s insane.

I was so tired today.  I dozed on and off in the living room today until noon (gotta love Skip who lets me get away with that from time to time) and just felt like I could have slept all day.  The Mothers of Multiples club was having a kids’ Christmas party today, and Calista was so excited for it, so I took her to do that.  Even though it was a twin club party, I didn’t take the boys as Nate had been up all night (probably why I was so tired — I don’t know what his deal was last night!) and Ace was still napping as we were about to leave.  Anyhow, she had a good time (as did I) and she even got a gift from Santa — a pink dragon Webkinz.  Unfortunately, she took the tag off and left/lost it at the party, so now we can’t go online with it.  Seems I have to buy a new one to get a new code.  What a pain! I Need a Lawyer

The accident/insurance saga continues…  Today, the at-fault party’s agent from the October 22nd accident called me and left a message saying that he needed to get a recorded statement from me.  One and a half months after the fact!  What the heck is this guy doing?!  Later, I got a message from him letting me know he’d be out of the office the rest of the week.  I didn’t give him a statement and tomorrow, I plan to contact his supervisor and raise hell.  This is just ridiculous.

I called a lawyer for a consult and he talked to me, then wished me luck.  Apparently, this isn’t worth his time/energy.  I’m not sure.  Now I am feeling hesitant to call another lawyer.  It’s not like there’s big bucks to be made here, but I need help getting my money back from this stupid insurance company, and will probably need help with the subsequent accident.  What a mess.
