I’m home from the egg retrieval. They retrieved 9 eggs — 6 from my right and 3 from my left. The embryologist said that three of them looked “tight”. I asked what that meant, and he said that it means that they are a little less mature and may have difficulty fertilizing, but he’d give them some time to see what they do.
I don’t feel nearly as bad as I thought I would… kind of like bad period cramps, but nothing as horrendous as I had expected. I am just a little uncomfortable.
We had to leave the house at 6:30 am, but I have been up since four. Couldn’t really sleep. I’m going to take a nap now.
The nurse said she’d call and check on me today, and we probably wouldn’t get a fertilization report until tomorrow.
