My New Year’s Resolution

Happy 2007! I resolve to try to write more in this blog as we chug along, saving money for IVF. And now that my excuse of the holidays is over, I also resolve to get back on the fundraising wagon and get moving on this financial goal.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. We had Christmas at our house on the 24th, and then left on the 25th to visit my husband’s family. We stayed for a week. It was a nice visit, though there was one night where I was subject to stories of how so-and-so was told they’d have to do IVF, but then they (insert choice here: ate fish, went on vacation, relaxed) and go pregnant, maybe we should try that! Ugh! My mother in law told me to just say, “Been there, done that” and brush them off. Sounds better than the old grin-and-bear it technique I use, so I will have to start doing that.

I have been having BFP dreams. If you’re not familiar with the acronym “BFP” it means Big Fat Positive and a Big Fat Positive is a positive pregnancy test. Anyhow, I first had one back on the 23rd, which was funny because in the dream, I had a positive test but couldn’t figure out how, as I had not ovulated yet. Ha ha!

The next dream was on the 30th, and in that one, I had a 50-pack of Answer brand tests and did one. It was immediately positive, and I called Skip in to see it. He couldn’t se the line (which was stupid because it was plain as day) so I did another. He still couldn’t see it (men!) so I did a digital test. However, being a dream and all, the digital test ws weird. It had four different kinds of tests in one, so I would pee on it, then there’d be a test with a blue plus sign, a pink lined test, the digital window and another (can’t recall what the fourth was). I did the dream test and all the lines were positive, but then Skip did something to it before the digital part got to read “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant” so he still didn’t believe me!

Last night’s dream was actually about someone else, in a way. I was trying to get pregnant in my dream, but it was quite weird. I had a daughter who was different than my real daughter, and her father was and old boyfriend. I was married to my current husband, but wa havin sex with my old boyfriend to try to get pregnant. Hey, it was a dream. Anyhow, then I ran into an old high school friend and he was telling me that hs girlfriend was 59 hours late for her period (not to be too exact or anything!) and I was looking for one of my pregnancy tests to give her.

Have I mentioned I have strange dreams?

Anyhow, I keep getting myself all worked up that maybe I’m pregnant without the help of science, but my heart knows that our measley old 3% chance says it’s probably not going to ever work that way. However, I will cross my fingers over the next few days and hope that I will have to hand out some donation refunds in the future. ;)

That will be my fallback plan, though, as I am going to get back into fundraising gear. I need to post the totals from the Pampered Chef party, as well as some other income I’ve had and figure out what the next move is. Which reminds me, I am going to place an ad in the paper for my desk, I should be able to get a couple hundred dollars for it.

Again, Happy New Year and may 2007 bring all your heart’s desires. :)

  1. We’re looking towards 2007 as a fresh start. I believe this will be the year for BFP for both our families. Just remember, there is a great deal of positive energy being sent your way. We think of you folks often.

  2. I’m crossing all my crossables that the fundraising goes effortlessly and you get your long awaited bfp. I’m only sitting at 2 years. I can’t imagine the hurt and anger that 5 years would bring. I’m already pretty bitter :) Here’s to the new year, new hope, and new adventures (hopefully including pregnancy!). Cheers!
