Wish I could say it was my own idea, but it’s not. :) You see, I know of another couple who is also fundraising for IVF (there is a link on the right sidebar to “Aiden Our Angel”, that is their site) and I see that they are doing a raffle with a great prize (a trip and other goodies). Now I have no means of raffling off a trip, but I thought if I could find just the right prize(s), perhaps I could have a raffle, too! I was thinking things like an iPod, digital camera…. not sure. The biggest problem is that I’d be scared to buy a prize like that and then not sell enough tickets to cover the cost of the item (man would that ever suck, and be awfully counter-productive to boot!). I thought about seeing if I could get a prize donation, but I don’t know that any places would donate something like that for a personal fundraiser. Maybe I’ll have to do some budget shopping to see what I can come up with… hmmm…
Nothing much exciting going on. I did have a meeting with a new potential client (in case you didn’t know, I am a web and graphic designer in the “real world”) and it seems like it will be a potentially lucrative job. I’ve got some other projects coming up as well, so hopefully I can boost my income to more than the usual “enough to make ends meet” variety and sock it away for IVF.
That reminds me, I should post an ad in the paper for this file cabinet and CD tower I want to offload. I am going to do that now.
