The Nursery

Instead of sitting around and feeling sorry for myself and missing the boys, I thought I’d take some pictures of their nursery to share. It’s a very tiny room, so we had to make the most of it. We got mini cribs so they’d fit in the room and overall, I think it turned out great.

Ace and Nate’s Cribs

Ace’s Crib Nate’s Crib

The cribs are the Emily style by Da Vinci (formerly known as Million Dollar Baby). They convert into headboards/foot boards later on. The letters are hand-painted to match the crib bedding (the bedding isn’t finished yet) by Kids Room Creations and they are fabulous! The night light is just $5 from IKEA.

Pictures Window and Pictures

I got a great deal on the three-picture frame at Jo-Ann Crafts & Fabrics — it was $5! The top picture is Ace, the center picture is Ace and Nate together and the bottom picture is Nate.

Shelf

Shelf Close Up

On the wall where the door is, I just put up a little white shelf that I got for $10 at Fred Meyer and I put some of the gifts they received on it. When our family portraits are in, I will put one in the frame.

Hooks

When I was getting the tools to hang the shelf, I found an old white three-hook thing that used to be in Calista’s room, so I hung it behind the door to hang the diaper bags or whatnot.

Closet and Change Table

We took off the closet doors and put the change table there.

These other photos didn’t turn out so well, but I wanted to show the stars and clouds on the ceiling and the night light when the room is dark.

  4. It looks great! Love the ceiling, and that was a great idea to put the changing table in the closet to give you more space. I hope your boys get to come home and enjoy their new room soon.

  5. What a beautiful room Sommer. Ace and Nate will be in their cribs before you know it and then out of their cribs. Time goes by so quickly.

The nursery is beautiful. You look so organized! I’m impressed.

  6. I’ve been following your story since you were a frequent poster in the hpt/opk forum. I just wanted to congratulate you on the boys birth. It sounded terribly scary, and I know being a NICU mom isn’t the ideal especially it’s so hard to be away from your babies. But the room looks great and I’m waiting to hear that they get to come home and start sleeping in those cute cribs!

    Peace.
