Bittersweet

We got word today that Ace is being evicted from the Special Care Nursery.  Basically, he’s fine now, and insurance doesn’t care to pay for a baby who doesn’t need care.  Of course, this is great news, because it means he’s coming home tomorrow, but it’s sad because Nate isn’t.

I will go to the hospital at 5 pm today and check into a room with the boys.  They’ll room with me for 24 hours, and after that time, I am free to take Ace with me.  But Nate will have to stay until he’s awake enough to take all of his feedings by mouth.  I only hope that rooming in with him for 24 hours might help him with his nursing/eating and get him where he needs to be to come home soon, too.

That’s all I have time to write for now — I have a lot to do before I head back to the hospital.  Wish us luck!

  1. Wishing you all the luck! I’m so glad one of your boys will be home with you and hoping the other will be able to come home really soon!

  2. Congrats on getting one of your little ones home! One of our twins came home two days before the other. We didn’t even think that the second one would be able to come home anytime soon, but it seems she missed her sister! Best wishes!

  3. I am so happy to hear that Ace is coming home but I can see how you must feel leaving Nate behind. I bet he’ll be home very soon, too. It’s great news to know they are on their way home. :)
